Sunshine Coast Public University Hospital will revolutionise healthcare on the Coast when it opens its doors in 2016. Built as part of the 20 hectare Kawana Health Campus that will also incorporate the hospital’s SARC (Skills, Academic & Research Centre), a co-located private hospital, all amongst the 6 storey 140,000 sqm MHB (Main Hospital Building), FMC Building (Facilities Maintenance Centre), the single storey 4,500 sqm MHU (Mental Health Unit), the 80,000 sqm Car Park 1 and 14,000 sqm Car Park 2, let alone the roads and infrastructure and other project wide developments.
Uni-span Formwork Solutions were proud to be associated with a project of this significance. The 10,000 sqm FMC Building will house the facilities management services, loading dock and central energy plant. The FMC is connected to the MHB via an underground corridor and an overhead link bridge.
Uni-span provided a solution for our client Bosform that met the strict regulations of main contractor Lend Lease and their Global Minimum Requirements (GMR). The solution: CC-4 Falsework light enough to be erected from below over the varying prop heights ranging from 1.8m to 6.7m high.
The perimeter downstand beams were also formed using the CC-4 quick strike system.
CC-4 offers a unique yet simple cantilever solution allowing edge beams to be formed whilst also allowing the perimeter scaffold to be erected ahead.
