The Australian Government and Queensland Government have committed $140 million of joint funding for design and construction of the next stage of the Gateway Upgrade South projects.

Stage 2 works include:

  • Section A:
Upgrading Mount Gravatt–Capalaba Road from Broadwater Road to Gardner Road.
  • Section B:
Extending the Gateway Motorway southbound on-ramp to the Pacific Motorway (completed March 2014).

As part of Section B works, the Queensland Government will invest a further $36 million to extend the South East Busway from Eight Mile Plains to Rochedale (School Road) including provision for a future extension towards Springwood.

Uni-span supplied a monolithic pour solution, by using the skillfully designed travelling MK system. The following formwork systems also complemented this project:

Underpass 1 was delivered on time and within budget, despite severe weather delays and localised flooding the readily built MK traveller was ready to drive into each pouring position at the touch of a button. The legacy of the success is the ongoing demand for the MK system by the client’s key staff on their latest projects nationally.
