When traditional formwork methods aren’t possible

WestConnex is a 33km motorway that will link Sydney’s west with the airport and Port Botany precincts. The M4 Widening stage includes widening the existing M4 motorway to four lanes, constructing ramp upgrades, maintaining the existing interchanges and widening the Granville viaduct and other bridges, opening to traffic in 2017.

The headstock had to be constructed besides the on ramp, therefore traditional shoring methods were not possible.

To overcome this project challenge, Uni-span designed a MK truss shoring system with custom designed and manufactured column brackets to support the MK product.

We worked closely with our client to perfect this engineering solution.
