Ready for change in the Galilee, Bowen & Surat Basins

The enormity of the Adani Australia projects is difficult to comprehend. The Carmichael coal, railway and port project, for example, includes building Australia’s largest thermal coal mine in the north Galilee Basin. This project will stretch from Central Queensland to Abbot Point near Bowen.

The proposed North Galilee Basin Rail Project (NGBR project) will see the transportation of coal from the Galilee Basin to the Port of Abbot Point. This will be a shorter and alternate route in comparison to the existing rail system via Moranbah.

There are also proposed plans to develop the T0 terminal (adjacent to the existing T1 terminal). This expansion at Abbot Point will involve onshore construction with conveyors that will connect these facilities to two new ship loading berths around 3km offshore.

Uni-span is watching this space and will be ready to meet requirements in the following areas:

  • Engineered solutions (scaffolding & formwork)
  • Scaffolding supply (hire & sales)
  • Formwork supply (hire & sales)
  • Industrial labour supply

Uni-span will set up the necessary satellite operations in order to supply to this project (i.e. Mackay, Townsville, Greater North Queensland).
