A different point of view

 

90,000 Australians are blind, with more becoming blind each year. 300,000 Australians have a vision condition that cannot be corrected by glasses, lenses or surgery and 25,000 will become blind or vision impaired in the next 5 years.

The association provides the following services statewide, and free of charge: Guide Dog Mobility (training Guide Dogs and people), White Cane Training, Electronic Travel Aid training, Adaptive Technology, School Holiday Camps, Young Peoples Programs, Counselling Retreats, Low Vision Support Groups, Low Vision Clinics, Community and Professional Workshops and Mobility Expos.

There are several volunteering opportunities available from Puppy Raising, to Team projects, to admin duties to Kennels Volunteering to name a few.
