Our delightful Receptionist, Katie Jordan, did an amazing job helping out at the recent beyondblue National Road Show, during their Coomera leg through South East Queensland. As did National Sales rep Clint Eyre-Walker and Scaffolding designer, Tony Frost, when they dedicated their time to help at the Helensvale State School leg of the journey. All 3 Uni-span staff helped the beyondblue team hand out information to the general public as well as those individuals seeking advise and help from this incredible non-profit organisation.
From February 2014 to May 2015, the beyondblue National Roadshow will travel over 40,000 kilometres in a big blue bus through every state and territory in Australia, visiting hundreds of communities across the 61 Medicare Local regions. Along the way, more than 200 events will be held to encourage all Australians to ‘Take 1 step’ for better mental health.
Mental health professionals and beyondblue staff were available to speak with and assist individuals in finding the support they need to improve or overcome their mental state of anxiety and/or depression.
With Uni-span Can participating in this initiative, we are helping beyondblue reach some serious goals in helping create the awareness of these mental illnesses; that it’s okay to speak about them with the right people and more importantly to take the right course of action in order to improve their state. We also encourage others to join us in supporting beyondblue’s vision to talk about mental health, reduce stigma and encourage people to support one another, whilst creating links between people and their local support services. beyondblue do an outstanding job and Uni-span Can are proud to support this incredible cause.
